The low-smoke moxa cigars are made from mugwort herb. Low-smoke cigars are particularly useful for indoor use. The low-smoke property is achieved by pre-combusting and compressing the mugwort herb into moxa charcoal.

Moxa is a traditional application in TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine. The cigars are lit on one end. The glowing end is then brought close to about one centimeter from the treatment point. If the patient feels significant heat, the cigar is removed. The process is repeated several times until redness appears.
